The Japanese Corporation Capcom, which is one of the world's largest developers and publishers of computer video games, was the victim of a cyber attack that disrupted business operations and email systems.

"Some Capcom networks have experienced issues affecting access to certain systems, including email and file servers. This was due to unauthorized access by a third party, "the company's" notification of network problems " reports.

According to the company's representatives, the attack did not affect Internet connections in the company's online games or access to various websites.

An ongoing internal investigation has not revealed the theft of user data, but it remains unknown whether corporate information was stolen as a result of the attack.

There is a possibility that the attack was carried out by ransomware operators. In August of this year, Capcom became a victim of TrickBot malware, which usually leads to attacks by Ryuk or Conti ransomware.

As SecurityLab wrote earlier, one of the world's largest toy manufacturers, Mattel, was subjected to a cyberattack using extortionate SOFTWARE, which also led to the failure of some business processes. According to sources, last July, the company also faced infection of its systems with the TrickBot Trojan.
