The American Corporation Twitter Inc has hired one of the hackers Payter Zatko, previously known by the network alias Mudge, as the head of the security service.
Zatko will report directly to CEO Jack Dorsey. It is planned that it will take over the management of key security functions. In an interview with NBC, the former hacker said that he will study "information security, site integrity, physical security, platform integrity, and anything that may relate to third-party manipulation of the platform as a whole."
Recently, Zatko oversaw security issues in the online payment service Stripe Inc., and previously worked on special projects at Google.
Mudge became famous for his achievements as a member of the hacker Association L0pht; he was also one of the key members of the hacker group Cult of the Dead Cow ("Cult of the dead cow"), formed in the 1980s.
Earlier, one of the us presidential candidates from the Democratic party admitted that as a teenager he was a member of the oldest hacker collective Cult of the Dead Cow ("Cult of the Dead Cow", CDC).
