Tens of thousands of files with patient data from several hospitals in a number of cities in Texas and the city of Miami were accessed on one of the hacker forums.

Personal data of patients of two hospital networks in the United States was publicly available as a result of a hacker attack, NBC News reports.

On one of the hacker forums, tens of thousands of files were found from the internal networks of a number of hospitals from several cities in the state of Texas and the city of Miami. The hacker group that published these files is well known to cybersecurity experts. Usually these hackers demand a ransom from their victims, but the hospitals have not yet received any messages from hackers.

It is noted that the leaked data contains not only health insurance numbers and other personal data, but also complete medical histories, as well as information about medical procedures.

The motives of the hackers who published the medical data are still unclear. Medical organizations have launched an investigation into the incident with the participation of law enforcement officers.
