The project of decentralized finance Uranium Finance based on the Binance Smart Chain blockchain was the victim of a cyber attack, as a result of which the attackers stole about $50 million.

The project developers planned to transfer the assets of liquidity providers to the new version of the protocol — 2.1. However, hackers exploited a vulnerability in the logic of the Uranium balance modifier, increased the project balance by 100 times, and gained access to user funds.

The stolen funds include 80 Bitcoin, 1.8 thous. Ether, 26.5 thousand. Polkadot, 5.7 million Tether, and 638 thousand. Cardano and 112 thousand u92 (the project's own cryptocurrency).

According to a representative of Uranium, the problem has not yet been fixed, and users are advised to stop providing liquidity for the project and cash out their funds.

This is the second cyberattack on the Uranium project. Earlier in April, hackers broke into one of the platform's pools and stole Binance USD and Binance Coin worth about $1.3 million.
